Program notes and welcome from CRFC Chairman Steve Ratcliffe

Chairmans Welcome

Our Chairman is suffering from a severe dose of ‘the blues’, big time, as he comes to terms with the result last Saturday, writes David Evans. Steve is presently languishing in NZ, anticipating a ‘Big’ win on Friday against the Aussies and no doubt will be cheering for the Blacks on Saturday. He has joined his son and is expected back on 25th October.

I heard the result, whilst tucking in to a plate of Souvlakia in Central Athens
and so our grateful thanks to Keith, who held the fort last Saturday. A win
against Marlow, probably lifted his spirits a little!

Derek Clifford’s report in the Echo suggested that the game was fast and open
and we were pleased to get another five points under our belt. It is good to see
that our young and new players are appearing on the score sheet. Charlie and
Laity are performing well and are a credit to the Club.

Good afternoon and welcome to the Prince of Wales Stadium to the players, officials and supporters from High Wycombe. Honours have been
fairly even in the past and we expect an entertaining match.

Steve has alluded to the many changes facing the Club at the POW, which will
directly impact on our presence at this great facility. We are meeting with other
Users on a regular basis and will need to put our proposals to the Cheltenham
Borough Council in the New Year, as the Midwinters development takes hold.

Chairmans Welcome

Good afternoon and welcome to the Prince of Wales for what promises to be a very warm afternoon. Welcome to Reading Abbey, your players, committee, family and supporters. We hope you enjoy your visit, but not too much!

As you will see from Hon’s sec’s notes we do have a connection with “Abbey ” who seem to follow the same principles as ourselves, i.e.  by investing in sustainable facilities and trying to develop your own players, through a mini, junior and Colts set ups.

Chairman’s Welcome

Its a little late but…

Welcome to our second home game of the season. A warm welcome to Maidenhead, your players committee and supporters. It is good to be playing you again and we look forward to a fast and entertaining game. I understand the ref has been on a summer fitness campaign so he will be able to keep up!

Chairman’s Welcome

We embark on a new season, filled with optimism. I have been particularly impressed with the attitude of our playing squad this pre season and delighted with the number of younger players attempting to make the transition from our minis and juniors into the big wide world of the adult game. It will be very tough and hard work, but with effort and commitment it will be worth it.

It is equally pleasing, led by Charlie our Captain again this year to see the hard work going in to integrate both sections of the Club. Will Mbanga after a gentle introduction to the Club last season, has taken over full responsibility for coaching this year and seems to be thriving on the challenge.

Welcome to Salisbury, your players, committee, supporters, friends etc, it is good to be playing you again after one seasons break and we look forward to resuming our usual tough encounters, followed by a chat and a beer in the bar afterwards

Yours in Rugby
Steve
